The poster features "Dancing Figures" by the Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo (1899-1991) and is signed in the artist's plate.Founded in 1944, the collection was originally called the Dance Collection and was housed at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building at 42nd Street. In 1999, the collection was renamed in honor of Jerome Robbins, a major supporter of the collection. The poster predates 1978 which was the last year phone number suffixes such as 0X5 appeared in the New York City phone books.The poster is presented in a black and silver wooden frame under glass and measures 15 7/8 in width and 20 3/4" in height. The image measures 14 3/4" in width and 19 5/8" in height.The Rufino Tamayo/Dance Collection poster is presented in very good vintage condition.
