After moving to Paris in 1906 and settling near Pablo Picasso at the Bateau-Lavoir, Gris began serious painting in 1910 and fully embraced Cubism by 1911. By 1912, art dealer Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler had committed to purchasing his entire output.
