Acquired from the original owner by the current owner. Juan Boza Sánchez was a Cuban painter and printmaker. From 1960 to 1962, he studied at the National School of Fine Arts San Alejandro in Havana, Cuba. From this year until 1964, he studied at the National School of Art (ENA) in Havana, Cuba. After moving to the United States in 1980, Boza began a transitional period in his work, starting with certain elements of surrealism and later redefining his themes to focus on Afro-Cuban religion, specifically Santería. He participated in several group and solo exhibitions, including the solo exhibition "Juan Boza. Black Mysticism" at Intar Latin American Gallery in New York, USA, in 1983, and an exhibition at the Museum of African Americans in Buffalo, New York, USA, in 1984. Throughout his career, he has received awards such as the Portinari Prize in Lithography at the Havana Exhibition 1967, Latin American Gallery, Casa de las Américas, Havana, and the National Drawing Salon Prize 1967 at the Gallery of Havana, among others. His works can be found in collections including the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), London, United Kingdom; Casa de las Américas, Havana; Cintas Foundation INC, New York, USA; the Museum of the Autonomous University of Mexico, Mexico City; and the National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba.JUAN BOZA. Adquirido del propietario original por el propietario actual. Juan Boza Sánchez, fue un pintor y grabador cubano. Desde 1960 a 1962 estudió en la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas San Alejandro, La Habana. A partir de este año y hasta 1964 lo hizo en la Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), La Habana, Cuba. Boza tras su marcha a los Estados Unidos, en 1980, comenzó un período de transición en su obra , que se inició en cierto surrealismo para luego redefinirse en temas de la religión afrocubana, la santería . Participó en varias muestras colectivas y personales, entre estas últimas se destacaron; en 1983, "Juan Boza. Black Mysticism". Intar Latin American Gallery, Nueva York, EE. UU y en 1984 exhibe en el Museum of African Americans, Búfalo, Nueva York, EE. UU. En su carrera ha sido acreedor de premios como en 1967 el Premio Portinari en Litografía. Exposición de La Habana 1967, Galería Latinoamericana, Casa de las Américas, La Habana. En 1968 el Premio. Salón Nacional de Dibujo 1967, Galería de La Habana entre otros.Su trabajos se encuentra en las colecciones de la British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Londres, Reino Unido. En la Casa de las Américas, La Habana, en Cintas Foundation INC, Nueva York, EE. UU. en el Museo de la Universidad Autónoma de México, México, D.
