HORRORS OF THE EMIGRANT SHIP-SCENE IN THE HOLD OF THE "JAMES FOSTER, Jun." Harper's Weekly Engraving Print March 27 1869. This is a very special and rare original antique print from the March 27, 1869 issue of Harper's Weekly. The story of James Foster Jr. ship was also documented in the AHMC (American Historical Manuscript Collection) of the Month, May 2017 that featured the calamities of the overcrowded emigrant ship and this particular print. The print is in good vintage condition, given its age. The print was neatly trimmed from the original magazine page that has the page number and publication date at the top of the page, and the magazine's contents in verso. The print is attached by tape to a piece of red stock paper underneath. The dimension of the print, without the magazine border, is 9 1/4" x 6" approximately. Sold as is.
